Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Foniks (“Foniks”, “we”) collects when you use the Foniks website, console and desktop apps, and what we do with it.

What we collect

• Account data: your email address, name (if you provide it or sign in with Google) and the workspaces and roles you belong to.
• Billing data: plan, seat count and billing contact. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach our servers.
• Usage data: session start and end times, translation minutes, language pair, app version and anonymised error categories, used for billing, capacity planning and reliability.
• Sales inquiries: what you send us through the contact form.

What we don’t keep

Audio and transcripts are processed in real time to produce the translation and are not stored by default. To translate speech, audio is sent to our processing infrastructure and to the speech and translation providers listed below, which act on our behalf under contracts that prohibit using your data to train their models.

How we use data

To provide and secure the service, bill for it, support you, and tell you about changes to it. We don’t sell personal data or use it for advertising.

Service providers

Hosting (Vercel), database and authentication (Supabase), payments (Stripe), email delivery (Resend), and speech and translation processing providers. A current list is available on request at privacy@foniks.ai.

Retention

Account data is kept while your account is active and deleted within 30 days of a deletion request, except where we must keep records for tax or legal reasons. Usage records are kept for up to 24 months.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it. Email privacy@foniks.ai. If your workspace is managed by an employer, they control the workspace data and we’ll route your request to them.

International transfers

We may process data outside your country. Where required, we use standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and remember your workspace and language. We use privacy-friendly analytics that don’t set tracking cookies.
